Album Description Cash Money/Universal Motown Records multi-platinum artist Lil Wayne is once again taking control of the airwaves and breaking records in both with "Lollipop," the first single from his highly anticipated album Tha Carter III. This is the biggest add week that a hip-hop artist has received at Rhythm Crossover and the biggest any artist has received at Urban Radio including Beyonce and Mariah. "Lollipop," is being well received at key radio stations across the country including: New York (Hot 97), Los Angeles (Power), Seattle (93 KUBE), Miami (99 Jamz), Philadelphia (Power 99), Atlanta (Hot 107) and Detroit (Hot 102). Lil Wayne's MySpace page received over a million unique views this week giving him the #1 Top Artist profile on the site. The video is currently in heavy rotation at MTV, MTV2, BET's Rap City and MTV Jams, where it appeared as the Jam Of The Week. The "Lollipop" video is also in medium rotation at MTV Hits and on BET's main playlist. Lil Wayne will also appear on BET's annual Spring Bling and will be only the 2nd artist in the event's history to perform for an entire episode! Since the release of his last CD, the platinum selling Tha Cater II, Lil Wayne has guest appearances on over 70 songs for other artists including Fat Joe's 2008 Grammy nominated single "Make It Rain," DJ Khaled's "We Taking Over," and Wyclef Jeans' "Sweetest Girl." He also released a duet CD with Bryan "Birdman" Williams titled Like Father, Like Son in 2006 which was a critical and commercial success.

Annoying Trash August 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Trash, not even worth downloading or paying a penny for it! This is his worse album to date for sure! I can only listen to one and maybe two tracks total. The rest is plain annoying. He is not even in my top 25 for best rappers alive!
Not Impressed August 26, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I didn't find any constructive substance what so ever. The album didn't have much content, and the content it did have is the same stuff that every other mainstream rapper is talking about...money, women, cars, clothes, shoes, etc. The self proclaimed "best rapper alive" didn't live up to his 'nickname' on this one and in my opinion this was the worst album out of the Carter Trilogy. They got worse as time went on. The Carter was great, The Carter 2 had too many repetitive/chopped and screwed hooks, and this one is just really lacking content. Besides the part about his content a lot of the stuff he says either doesn't make any sense(and please don't say it's too deep for me because Wayne is by no mean deep). I really think that at this point the drugs might really be getting to him. Has metaphors are very dumbed down and unoriginal "I'm rare like Mr. Clean with hair"...come on now. "I can buy your brain for a bargain, like I bought it from Target"...terrible. "I'm flyer than Beetle Juice, Beetle Juice, Beetle Juice"...The drugs have taken control of him. He also continues his streak of "biting" and "mimicking" Jay-z's every move(which isn't a bad thing to do with how successful Jay-z is but he needs to pave his own path, rather than taking Jay-z's road) He constantly bites Jay-z throughout the album. Including and entire verse from Mr. Carter. I expected a lot from this album due to it's amount of sales and Wayne definitely didn't deliver. Save your money, don't buy this trash.
Persona August 26, 2008 If anyone understands music and compares Weezy the old to Weezy the new you would not disagree with me that the old is much better. But I can not call the new garbage, trash, or any thing of the sort because he is still apealling to a certain crowd. So anyone who listens to Wayne and can honestly say they do not like the music is probably use to hearing the north, west, and east rappers...which is ok! But do not compare them to Wayne because the mentality in the rymes are different. The pain and frustrations are also different. So let's be mindful of these things before we bash. Holla!!
Lil Stain: Misguided - not misunderstood August 25, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
a few great tracks, laced w/ garbage lyrics. question: how can a person who romanticizes stains in his drawers dis Al Sharpton, a man who has put his life on the line to fight injustice for black folks, without suffering major criticism.
Hopefully the masses of black people will soon realize that swagger is not substance. There isn't one verse on this album that will be recited five years from now: That is the test of greatness. Not how many cds sold.
